Current Interim Chair, Martin Doel, will be officially handing over the reins to Paul on 1st November 2020 after almost a year in post.
Paul’s impressive CV includes Finance and Managing Director positions at numerous waste management and chemical companies across Europe in a career spanning almost 40 years.
The award-winning businessman is no stranger to Further Education, spending 12 years on the Board of Eastleigh College including 8 years as Chair of Governors in a period which saw the College recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted.

Paul said: “After joining the board in January, I am both delighted and excited to become Chair of an organisation so fundamental to the prosperity of Portsmouth, both educationally and economically. The current team of governors is stronger than ever with members from an impressive array of backgrounds including former Sparsholt College Principal Tim Jackson, former Finance & Operations Leader at IBM Ashley Cullen, Economic Growth Manager at Portsmouth City Council Mark Pembleton and Senior Lecturer in Financial Management at the University of Portsmouth Lena Itangata. I very much look forward to working with all at Highbury and can see exciting times ahead.”
