All Students Welcome!

The aim of Highbury College Reading Club is to examine books that have challenged and made us think about the times they were written and how these important texts have influenced the reader in today’s society.

The Reading Club will give you the opportunity to reflect, discuss and debate issues raised within the classic texts and discuss what relevance they have in our own lives.

Through the reading of the books, we will discuss the following issues: poverty, the welfare state, racism, the role of women, the role of Government and its power through surveillance and scientific and medical advances.
