Working closely with the emergency services and armed forces, our courses include outdoor and adventure training, residential trips and great work experience, as well as theory-based lectures with the latest e-learning facilities and assignments.
Our courses include physical fitness, sports training and field exercises. All of our courses teach you what life is like in the public services and include expedition and survival skills, teamwork and leadership, citizenship and information on career opportunities.
We embed maths and English in all our lessons and depending on your current levels, you will have the chance to either improve your GCSE grades or gain valuable Functional Skills qualifications if required.

Graduates from Highbury’s Uniformed Public Services’ courses have gone on to rewarding careers in fire and rescue services, the armed forces and police services to name but a few. Other career options include customs and excise officer, prison officer and paramedic. The typical starting salary for a police constable in England and Wales is £23,317. The starting salary for a prison officer is £18,720 a year. Privates in the Army earn between £17,945 and £20,521, while new recruits pick up around £14,492.
