For young people looking to begin a career in the healthcare sciences including laboratory, optical or radiography professions. T Levels are a high-quality, work-focused alternative to A Levels, offering new routes to employment or further learning.
Units include:
Our T Level Health and Nursing course is designed to increase your employment and progression prospects by having extended hands-on experience in real-life healthcare work placements, in which you will be supported by an expert.
Our T Level Healthcare Science course is designed to increase your employment and progression prospects by having extended hands-on experience in real-life healthcare science work placements, in which you will be supported by an expert.
Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, maths and science.
This course is full time for two years and you are required to complete a 45-day minimum industry placement.
Some lessons will take place in our new classrooms set up as a hospital-style ward. Each T level also includes an industry placement that lasts at least 45 days. This will give you an excellent insight into the industry, as well as developing your key skills and knowledge. Assessment is through a combination of externally set exams, an employer set project, final practical assignment and employer observations. You could receive an overall grade of Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*
School Leavers under the age of 19 do not have to pay fees on any full time courses, though may have to pay for their second year if turning 19 during their studies. If you’re aged 19 or over you might qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. It’s easy to apply for and you won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning over £25,000. If you are studying a part-time course and you receive one of the following benefits, or you depend financially on someone who does, you may be entitled to have your tuition fees waived: Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support. You will, however, have to pay any awarding body/assessment fees (unless you are on a first full level 2 course). * If you are in receipt of Working Tax Credit or receive other allowances, you may be eligible to claim concessionary rates. If you are entitled to a fee concession you will be asked to provide proof of your entitlement. It is essential that you inform us if your entitlement changes at any time during your course.
You could progress to a degree, an apprenticeship, or into employment.
