Patricia comes to the College following a well-established career within the sector and in 2012 she was awarded an OBE for Services to Further Education.
A former student at Highbury College, Patricia completed her Cert Ed through Portsmouth Polytechnic at the College before starting her teaching career in Athens, Greece.
Patricia then moved to the Isle of Wight College where she was appointed senior manager in 1990. During her time at the College she not only successfully prepared the organisation for a transition from local government to independent funding, but she also completed a Master of Business Administration through the University of Portsmouth and gained licentiate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
In 1996, Pat was appointed Head of Staff and Quality Services at Bridgwater College, Somerset. Over the next eight years she also served as the College Nominee for FEFC inspection, Clerk to Audit, and Institutional Reviewer for two Quality Assurance Agency reviews.
Patricia was appointed Assistant Principal at South Devon College in 2004. In just four years she guided the college from an unsatisfactory to outstanding Ofsted rating. Five years later, Patricia was appointed Vice Principal and Deputy Chief Executive Officer. During this time, she became a fully-trained Ofsted associate inspector and became a member of the Ofsted Scrutiny Panel.
Patricia is honoured to be a Patron of the Motivational Preparation College for Training (MPCT), an outstanding learning/training provider, having worked with them since 2011.
