Catering student Luke Galea’s commitment to GCSE English was recognised recently when he received the #AllAboutME Star Student Award.

Star Student Aces English Classes

Alongside a Level 3 Professional Cookery qualification, Luke is working towards his GCSE in English at Grade 4.

Luke’s tutor and GCSE English Team Leader Tracey James said: “Luke has been given this award for his determination to successfully gain a Grade 4 (or above) in his English Language GCSE exam in November. Luke has totally committed himself to working hard in all lessons. Luke listens carefully to advice and feedback.

“Luke has a positive approach to his studies and always attempts the more challenging tasks in class. He has achieved 100% attendance and I am confident Luke is destined for great things. Well done Luke.”

Luke admits he would rather be creating culinary delights in the kitchen but had this advice for his fellow students: “Even if you don’t like something but it is part of your end goal to get you where you want to be, you have to try to achieve it even if you have to do it over and over again. Learn from mistakes and keep moving forward, never give up.”
