Nine students, from a range or vocational sectors, can now recognise the signs of a cyber threat and will be able to share their new knowledge, support and offer advice on cyber concerns to their peers.

Computing student Omer said: “Today I’ve learnt a lot about being a Cyber Ambassador and I think that everyone should learn about and know how to deal with problems on the internet.”

The College is the first tertiary education institution to participate in the initiative within Hampshire.

Principal of Highbury College, Stella Mbubaegbu CBE said: “It’s terrific that our students are the first in the county to benefit from this amazing opportunity. At Highbury, we’re committed to providing a safe learning environment and by taking part in this scheme we now have students that can keep themselves and others cyber safe, which is just fantastic.”
