In early June, eligible students will receive an official invitation letter. The letter will include the time of the ceremony and instructions on how to hire the gown. It will also include information about buying additional tickets for friends and relatives. There is no limit to the number of friends and relatives that can attend the ceremony.
On the day, there will an official photography service available for individuals plus all students are invited to attend the group photograph located on the steps of the Guildhall.

Friday 5th July 2019
Students are required to arrive at The Guildhall between 12.30pm and 1pm to receive their gown.
Guests and family members can arrive and be seated any time between 1pm - 1.30pm. The ceremony will last approximately 2.5 hours.

Your gown and photographers will also be waiting for you in the Harlequin Room on the ground floor of The Guildhall.
Friends and Family Tickets
If you have ordered guest tickets online prior to the event your tickets will be waiting for you on the door at The Guildhall on the day from a member of Highbury staff.
Extra guest tickets will be available on the day for £9 each. Please pay in CASH ONLY.
Tickets cannot be obtained from the Guildhall Box Office before the event.
What should I wear?
This is a formal occasion so students and guests should wear formal clothing.
Example for students
Gentlemen: Smart trousers, shirt, shoes (no white trainers)
Ladies: Smart dress/skirt or trousers/smart blouse, shoes with a suitable heal to walk up and down the stairs onto and off the stage.
Once you are gowned and your photographs complete please assemble in the Cloakroom, which is on the lower floor it is here that you will get in line according to the programme ready for the procession to commence, the ceremony could last up to 1.5 hours.
The ceremony will begin with a procession by graduates and staff. The presentation of the awards will follow an opening address by the Principal.
Once the ceremony begins please try not leave your seat as this interferes with your fellow students.
It has become a tradition that guests, once the ceremony is over, stand and applaud as the graduates and staff process out of the auditorium, please join in with this tradition as it brings the ceremony, to a very fitting end. Guests are asked to leave the auditorium once the graduates have processed out.
Once the ceremony is over the graduates will be escorted to the First Floor where they will exit The Guildhall through the Bronze Doors in order to assemble for a group photograph on the steps. Guests will leave through the normal exits in order to take photos from the Guildhall Square of the graduates on the steps.
