Every year Cosham Fire Station raises funds to hold a Christmas party for children with chronic or terminal conditions.
The students raised the fantastic sum after hearing of Cosham Fire Station’s extraordinary event.
Level 2 students held the first fundraiser with a fancy dress basketball tournament.
Students from the Prince’s Trust, Foundation Prospects and Business courses competed along with firefighters from Blue Watch.
Next up Level 3, Year 1 students ran three virtual marathons on treadmills with support from White Watch.
Finally, Level 3, Year 2 students took part in a sponsored run up and down Butser Hill in fancy dress.
In total, all three groups raised £1,200, which went towards a Christmas dinner, party, entertainer and some personalised presents delivered by Father Christmas.
Public Services Tutor Karen Wood, who also volunteers at Cosham Fire Station, said: “I think it’s amazing that our students raised so much money. They organised each event themselves and have done so well - I’m extremely proud of what they’ve achieved!”
