Congratulations to our Prince's Trust Team 104!

Team 104 managed to raise over £260 by arranging a sponsored 3.5 mile walk and also a cake sale. The team used the money to buy materials to complete the community project at St George’s Church, Portsea.

Reverend Belinda Davies said: “We were really impressed. The project has enabled the garden to improve considerably (and this would have taken us months!), and the decoration of the large hall means that we have moved closer to having space that can be used by the local community.”

The team also contacted a local builders’ merchants (Brewers in Fratton - Ian Crowe, Store Manager) to see if they could help supply some paint at a discounted price. To our delight they donated the majority of the paint for free!

The project consisted of the following:

  • Team 104 helped by cutting back ivy and de-weeding the church’s garden, cleaning and clearing rubbish and weeds from the pavement and flower beds, planting bulbs, shrubs and potting plants to brighten up the whole front garden area.
  • The team also helped by re-decorating the function hall at the back of the church: cleaning and clearing the room, sanding and painting doors, readying the room for walls, door frames and skirting boards to be painted. (A general freshen-up of the hall.)
