You will learn about the travel and tourism industry and the component industries and organisations that support it, in the UK and abroad. You will explore worldwide destinations and investigate the features, appeal and importance of different global destinations. You will also explore current factors that are impacting the industry such as climate change, responsible tourism, and travel restrictions such as health pandemics and investigate how the industry responds to these challenges.
In addition to the travel and tourism sector-specific content, you will develop the transferable and higher-order skills that are highly regarded by higher education and employers. You will be taught to analyse information and data from the travel and tourism industry, and identify trends and the potential impact of different factors on the industry and its customers, which supports some of the skills you need to progress into higher education, employment, self-employment or training.
