Music-lover James Hepburn really threw himself into College life – and reaped the rewards…

As well as studying for his Level 3 BTEC extended diploma in Music Technology, he also volunteered to become a student governor, attending regular meetings and having a voice in the way the College is run.

His high level of commitment led to him being named Student of the Year.

James, whose ambition is to be a music technician and stage manager, has already worked at festivals as pit boss and assistant pit boss. He DJs, plays the drums, flute and bass guitar, and sings in the Victoryland choir, set up by his mum back in 1982. He’s also into acting and dance, winning prizes for his contemporary and ballet routines.
