The UK construction industry will need a total of 262,920 wood trades and interior fit-out occupations (which includes carpenters) to meet demand between 2017 until 2021, according to the latest construction skills network research (lMI).
There are many opportunities for carpenters to work in a range of areas including, domestic residential buildings, commercial new builds or historic restorations.
Our carpentry and joinery courses are based at Highbury Northarbour Centre, which is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the South East, with industry standard workshops and realistic working environments.
Alongside their programmes, students at Highbury are also encouraged to use their skills to make a contribution to the local community.
We embed maths and English in all our lessons and depending on your current levels, you will have the chance to either improve your GCSE grades or gain valuable Functional Skills qualifications if required.
