Highbury College’s Virtual Learning Environment, MyCourse, has been up and running since September 2006. MyCourse is an online communications tool where staff and students can interact and access a wide variety of resources, links, and tools.
Students can download learning resources and take quizzes relating to their course, get access to their grades, and communicate with tutors and peers. Other facilities on MyCourse include forums, message boards, blogs, and an academic calendar.
Corporate MyCourse has now been launched for clients in industry: it has forums for people to access information and communicate with each other and with staff at Highbury.
Highbury College has received recognition for its success with MyCourse. The Quality Improvement Agency has written a case study on it which will be published nationally, and Ofsted were also impressed with MyCourse during Highbury’s ICT Inspection in November and the Teacher Education and Training inspection in January.
