New Students

Welcome to Highbury College

As a new student you will have an induction period to give you the opportunity to meet tutors, lecturers and other students on your course. During the various induction sessions you will find out about the College's services and facilities, and will be issued with important literature such as course packs and timetables.

Full-time students are allocated a personal tutor who is responsible for monitoring your progress during the year, and will also help with other aspects of personal and social education, including careers advice. Tutors and students normally meet on a weekly basis and during timetabled review days. The College also has an extensive support services team who can help with issues relating to specific support areas.

At the start of each year, the Students' Union organises a Freshers Day for new students - an informal event where you can join clubs, societies, and sports teams. You can also get your NUS card which entitles you to student discounts in a wide variety of places, such as high street shops, cinemas, bowling alleys and leisure centres.
