It was a proud day for students at Highbury College Portsmouth when they had their Celebration of Achievement ceremony at Portsmouth Guildhall.
The College's annual graduation ceremony saw nearly 400 students don gowns and mortar boards to collect their certificates in front of an audience of their families and friends.
Then it was out onto the Guildhall steps for photographs and the traditional hat-throwing.
Katie Baldwin, 20, had completed an NVQ Level 3 in Patisserie at Highbury City of Portsmouth Centre.
She said: "I really enjoyed my course, especially the cake decorating side of things because that's what I want to do now I'm going out into the big wide world.
"Today has been really good, getting my scroll. It's a formal celebration of what we have accomplished and makes us feel we have achieved a lot."
The event also included a speech from David Collins CBE, Chief Executive of the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS).
Highbury's student success rates make it the overall top performing general further education college in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and place it in the top 6% of further education colleges in England.
